Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager. You will assist with plan-o-gram maintenance, provide exemplary customer service, and help maximize store profitability while safeguarding assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking and displaying merchandise, processing shipments, assisting customers, and operating the register. Prior supervisory experience is preferred; relocation is not available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cash handling.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and deposit control.
• Familiarity with plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Experience with IBM cash registers and basic retail POS operations.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise, rotate and face shelves, build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and help locate merchandise.
• Operate cash register, total purchases and bag items.
• Collect payment and make change; maintain cash accuracy.
• Keep front end clean; assist with sidewalk displays.
• Provide excellent customer service and lead in absence of store manager.
• Follow SOPs and company policies; open/close store as directed by Area Manager.
