Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a dedicated Cashier/Stocker to support store operations in Columbus. The role involves unloading trucks, stocking shelves, operating the cash register, and delivering excellent customer service while ensuring store standards and loss prevention.

In the absence of store leadership, you may help lead daily tasks and authorize routine actions. This position focuses on accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase; bag merchandise.
• Greet customers as they enter the store and provide exemplary customer service.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized store and facilitate a safe and secure environment.
• Assist in maintaining plan-o-grams and merchandising programs.
