Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a General Summary role where you will function as a Cashier and/or Stocker and lead in the absence of store management. You will assist in plan-o-gram implementation, stock merchandise, greet customers, operate the register, and help ensure a clean, organized store environment.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, loss prevention, and adherence to store policies. Relieve managers when needed and contribute to daily profitability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise following store procedures.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves; build displays.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and providing help.
• Maintain store cleanliness including front end and restrooms.
• Operate cash register, accept payments and provide change.
• Support control procedures and cash accountability during shifts.
