Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with lead capacity to ensure daily store operations run smoothly. You will greet customers, assist with merchandise stocking and plan-o-gram maintenance, and support a safe, clean shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and process shipments per store procedures.
• Stock, rotate, face, and build merchandise displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Provide superior customer service and help customers locate merchandise.
• Operate cash register and handle payments, bagging items and giving change.
• Maintain store cleanlines and safety standards; support loss prevention.
