Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with leadership potential to assist in store operations, customer service, and merchandising. In the absence of store leadership, you may act as a lead, oversee plan-o-grams, and help maximize profitability.

Key duties include unloading deliveries, stocking shelves, handling cash, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions.
• Understanding of plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidelines.
• Ability to provide exemplary customer service and teamwork.
• Familiarity with store safety policies and loss prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and process deliveries.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness and store conditions.
• Operate cash register and process payments.
• Provide supervision in absence of managers.
• Ensure cashier accountability and security procedures.
