Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, well-organized store focused on customer-first service. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock and rotate merchandise, and help maintain store conditions while supporting management in key capacity when absent.

The role includes leading by example, greeting customers, processing payments, stocking, cleaning, and helping with planograms and displays.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment and make change, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate displays; build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store and restock supplies; set up sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform duties in the absence of Store/Assistant Store Manager.
