Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate in a full-time role at our Avondale, LA location. You will lead customer service efforts, operate the cash register, stock and replenish merchandise, and help maintain store cleanliness and displays.

This role also acts as a lead in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Manager. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentations.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle cash transactions.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and deposit procedures.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and assist customers.
• Operate cash register, scan items, process payments, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate displays according to planograms.
• Clean and organize the store, restrooms, and stockroom; maintain cleanliness.
• Open and close the store under direction of Store Manager; assist in duties in their absence.
