Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Lead Safety Representative in Sandston, VA for a 6-month, 1099 contract on a data center construction project. The role focuses on hands-on safety oversight and leading a small onsite safety team.

You will work with site supervision and craft personnel to ensure safe execution, maintain compliance, and drive a proactive safety culture across active work areas.

Qualifications

• STS-C, CHST, ASP, or CSP certification is required.
• Degree in Safety (or acceptable equivalent).
• Minimum 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• Data Center Construction Experience.
• Experience leading site safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for data center construction activities.
• Lead a small onsite safety team and coordinate with project management, supervision, and craft personnel.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.

Location: Sandston, VA (15 Minutes from Richmond, VA)

Duration: 6 Months (Start: September 21, 2026)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $60/hr

Per Diem: None - Locals Only

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 48 Hours Per Week

Additional Schedule Details: Occasional Saturday work (8 hours) as needed. Resumes requested ASAP.
