Job summary

American Edge Partners is seeking a Safety Manager to own the safety program across Arizona project sites. This on-site leadership role requires the authority to stop work, direct crews, and liaise with management to maintain a safe work environment on water and wastewater facilities.

You will oversee training, site safety plans, hazard analyses, and high-risk work permitting, while driving incident investigations and continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in construction safety, with at least 3 in heavy civil or industrial construction — water/wastewater treatment, or closely related heavy industrial work.
• Deep working knowledge of OSHA 1926, with demonstrated experience managing excavation, confined space, fall protection, crane and rigging, and electrical safety programs.
• Experience writing site-specific safety plans, AHAs, and high-risk work permits.
• Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience, with the writing ability to match.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites across Arizona
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, and to meet client badging requirements for access to operating treatment plants

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and document findings; drive corrective actions to closure
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis; prepare reports and lessons learned
• Develop and deliver training, orientations, and toolbox talks
• Review and approve JHAs/AHAs, confined space and excavation plans, and lift plans
• Chair site safety committee meetings and participate in project and owner meetings
• Manage PPE and safety equipment inventory and procurement
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs, EMR data, and safety performance metrics
• Support preconstruction with site-specific safety plan development and safety pricing input
• Maintain and audit records so that any inspection or client review is a non-event
• Mentor project staff and superintendents on their safety responsibilities
