Job summary

DCS Contracting, Inc. in the Greater Phoenix area seeks a highly motivated Safety Manager with a heavy civil construction background to lead, shape, and strengthen the safety program and culture across our growing operations.

This hands-on role owns all aspects of the safety program—from strategic planning and policy development to field support, training, inspections, and day-to-day execution—while partnering with field leaders and project teams to keep workers safe and projects on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or related field.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
• OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 certification preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• CHST a plus; additional safety credentials encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and daily execution of the company-wide safety program.
• Build partnerships with field leaders and crews to reinforce a proactive safety culture.
• Conduct regular site inspections, document observations, and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and project-specific safety plans.
• Review JHAs and coach crews to strengthen hazard recognition and risk mitigation.
• Participate in project planning and safety meetings to provide practical guidance.
• Lead Safety Committee initiatives and drive employee engagement and incident prevention.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; determine root causes and implement actions.
