Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Principal Safety Case Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA, to own the architecture, strategy, and integrity of safety cases for our first products. You’ll define top-level claims, evidence structures, and traceability across requirements, validation and deployment, while collaborating with multiple teams to ensure coherent safety arguments.

You will provide independent challenge, identify gaps, and guide governance discussions.

Qualifications

• Deep experience developing or owning safety cases for complex safety‑critical systems.
• Strong systems engineering background across requirements, architecture, verification, validation, and safety assurance.
• Ability to translate complex evidence into structured safety claims and arguments.
• Knowledge of autonomous driving and AI/ML safety including model performance and uncertainty.

Responsibilities

• Own safety case strategy and architecture for Wayve’s robotaxi and OEM ADAS products.
• Lead evidence structures, traceability from safety requirements to deployment decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, AI/ML, Validation, and Vehicle Engineering to align safety requirements.
• Provide independent challenge and guidance to safety governance forums.
