Wayve is building the next generation of autonomous driving technology. As Principal Engineer, Embedded Software Architecture, you will define and lead the architecture of our vehicle software platform, powering AI systems that bring autonomy to life.

You will work with embedded compute platforms from NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and other partners, shaping operating systems, middleware, and hardware abstraction layers for scalable, safe software.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software and systems engineering, with deep embedded expertise.
• Hands-on C/C++ development experience; Python or Rust familiarity.
• Proven ability to deliver large-scale production systems with architectural involvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve embedded software architecture for Wayve’s autonomy platform.
• Develop prototypes and reference implementations demonstrating key decisions.
• Analyze, optimize, and ensure reliability across the embedded stack.
• Collaborate with AI, platform, vehicle systems teams and external partners (NVIDIA, Qualcomm, OEMs).
• Promote modern development practices for high-assurance embedded software.
• Mentor senior engineers through reviews and joint design work.
