Job summary

The ASPCA Community Veterinary Clinic in New York is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician Staff and Floor Manager. You will direct workflow on the clinic floor and support HQHVSN and primary care for cats and dogs living in service areas and shelter settings.

You will work closely with the clinic management to ensure high-quality care and efficient daily operations. Responsibilities include performing a broad range of veterinary technician duties, mentoring nursing staff, ensuring adherence

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of veterinary science technology (2 or 4 year program).
• Minimum five years experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician in small animal medicine and surgery; shelter medicine/high volume spay-neuter experience preferred.
• Minimum two years people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of veterinary technician functions including venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation and assistance, diagnostics, pharmacy and patient recovery.
• Work with staff veterinarians, technicians, and assistants to support HQHVSN and PPC for cats and dogs.
• Use low-stress handling to provide a safe environment for animals, staff and clients.
• Communicate effectively with clients; assist with intake, obtain history and discharge patients.
