Job summary

DB E.C.O North America is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert (Mechanical) for Rolling Stock Engineering. The role centers on procurement and modification of rail vehicles, including specification development, design reviews, QA, and zero-emission systems.

Remote work is possible with travel as needed. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage complex projects, and liaise with clients to deliver high-quality results while meeting schedule and budget objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in rail vehicle engineering.
• Experience with rolling stock design, production, testing and operations.
• Experience with intercity, commuter, light/heavy rail.
• Familiarity with FRA/FTA requirements for rail vehicle design and operation.
• Technical project management experience.
• Knowledge of low- and zero-emission rail tech (batteries/hydrogen) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage rolling stock engineering projects from concept to completion in passenger rail.
• Oversee technical aspects of rail and transportation projects.
• Support budgets, schedules, and client liaison to ensure success.
• Produce deliverables such as project plans, specifications, analyses, reports, drawings, and simulations.
• Mentor team and collaborate with clients and partners to achieve objectives.
• Drive QA/QC procedures and continuous improvement.
• Engage in marketing, proposals, and contract negotiations.
