AtkinsRéalis USA is seeking a Rolling Stock Mechanical Services Manager to lead the Rolling Stock Mechanical Services Group, which includes eight consultants. You will oversee billability, staffing, performance reviews, and client-facing vehicle system expertise on rail projects.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree with 10+ years in the rail industry; PE designation is desirable. Strong English communication and project management experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years in the rail industry or equivalent
• PE designation desirable
• Experience with passenger rail vehicles (cars, locomotives, streetcars, light rail)
• Project management experience desirable
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage group billability with a 90% target.
• Balance workloads to keep resources billable without overload.
• Hire new team members as workloads rise or specialized skills are needed.
• Lead annual and mid-year performance reviews for all group members.
• Approve timesheets, travel, and employee expenses.
• Support business development through proposals and personnel recommendations.
• Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
• Manage assignments ensuring appropriate qualifications and expertise.
• Provide vehicle mechanical system expertise to clients and manufacturers.
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and first article inspections.
