Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Subject Matter Expert to act as the technical authority on mechanical framing and coolant pumping components. The role reports to engineering leadership and involves collaboration across manufacturing, field execution, and customers.

The position is fully remote with 50% travel and focuses on ensuring robust, manufacturable frame designs that meet codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field required with substantial hands-on experience.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in mechanical systems design or related field.
• Eaton does not sponsor immigration for this position; CPT/OPT/STEM OPT etc. are not offered.
• Open to a fully remote role with 50% travel (global travel included).

Responsibilities

• Create, validate, and optimize metal framing concepts and shop drawings using SolidWorks.
• Ensure framing designs meet fabrication limitations, optimize material use, minimize tooling and scrap.
• Verify all designs meet local building codes, load requirements and industry standards.
• Evaluate structural failures or defects and provide data-driven corrective actions.
• Serve as liaison between customer, manufacturing, and supply partners on related topics.
• Mentor engineers, technicians, and production staff on mechanical system design practices.
