Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a Lead Welding Engineer to drive weld process development for robotic systems in Pewaukee, WI. The role leads technicians, qualifies WPS/PQR, and ensures code compliance across complex automation projects.

The position requires 5–8+ years of welding engineering experience, familiarity with GMAW, GTAW, laser welding, and experience with FANUC or ABB robotic systems. On-site, with strong technical leadership and mentorship expectations.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of welding engineering experience in production or automation environments.
• Ability to develop, qualify, and document Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and welding qualifications (PQR).
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead weld process development and provide technical mentorship to Robotic Weld Technicians.
• Develop and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and welding parameters for new materials and configurations.
• Review robot weld paths, support integration and commissioning of welding systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with customer and code requirements.
