Job summary

Gables Search Group is seeking a hands-on Robotic Welding Manager to lead robotics programming and automation within a first-shift manufacturing operation. This role oversees a technical team while developing, improving, and troubleshooting automated welding, blasting, and painting systems.

The ideal candidate has direct experience programming robotic welding systems in a manufacturing environment and can supervise a skilled team while driving productivity, quality, and uptime.

Qualifications

• Hands-on robotics programming experience in manufacturing.
• Direct experience programming robotic welding systems.
• Experience supervising technical staff.
• Knowledge of PLCs, vision systems, sensors, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead Robotics Programmers and Technicians.
• Oversee automation projects from concept to production launch.
• Program and validate robotic welding applications.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, reliability, and uptime.
• Troubleshoot robotics, PLCs, electrical systems, sensors, tooling, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Review engineering drawings and 3D models to support automation projects.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement lasting equipment improvements.
• Create training materials, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and continuous improvement teams.
