Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC seeks a Robotics & Automation Manager to lead a first shift team of Robotics Programmers and Robotic Process Technicians in welding, painting, and blast operations. You will drive automation projects from concept through implementation, using Fanuc Roboguide and WeldPro for simulation and validation.

The role requires 4–5 years in robotics programming within manufacturing, plus 2+ years of leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
• 4–5+ years of robotics programming and automation in manufacturing.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience managing technical staff.
• Strong welding robotics programming experience.
• Experience with Fanuc Roboguide and Lincoln WeldPro preferred.
• Knowledge of PLCs, ladder logic, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, vision systems.
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD; Inventor preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP and product configuration systems.
• Hands-on problem solving with practical approach.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Robotics Programmers and Technicians.
• Identify and prioritize automation opportunities across weld, blast, and paint.
• Lead automation projects from concept to installation and production.
• Use Fanuc Roboguide and WeldPro to simulate and validate programs.
• Read drawings and 3D models to support automation design.
• Serve as go-to resource for robotics, PLCs, electrical systems, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics.
• Lead root-cause analysis to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Develop training, work instructions, and documentation for safe ops.
• Collaborate with Operations and CI to improve processes and strategy.
• Stay current on automation tech and apply relevant innovations.
• Support other projects and priorities as needed.
