Job summary

Mercy Health in the United States is seeking a Clinical Unit Leader for St. Charles Hospital. This lead RN/Charge Nurse coordinates patient care on a designated unit, guiding staff and collaborating with the Clinical Manager to promote clinical excellence and efficient resource use.

Required is an RN license with relevant experience; preferred BSN and unit-specific certifications. This on-site leadership role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact.
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain prior to entering patient care).
• Certifications per unit: PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, board certification (preferred).
• 2 years nursing experience with 1 year in acuity level of desired area (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care on a designated unit with the Clinical Manager.
• Adjust schedules and assignments to fit acuity and resources.
• Provide guidance, clinical support, and oversee unit in the leader's absence.
• Ensure safety, infection control, and appropriate use of supplies.
• Communicate care plan and interventions to patients and families.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration for care coordination.
• Mentor staff and support conflict resolution; foster teamwork.
• Participate in quality monitoring and performance improvement.
