Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Colorado is seeking an RN Charge Nurse to provide shift leadership and clinical expertise within the unit. You will coordinate staffing, guide the care team, and ensure adherence to care plans and policies.

The role requires a BSN, RN license, BLS, and unit certifications; previous mentoring and 1 year of clinical experience are preferred. The position is on-site with a 30-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice; BSN required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Unit Specific Certification (ACLS, PALS, etc.).
• Experience in the assigned clinical area; mentoring experience.
• RN must obtain BSN within four years of hire/promotion if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and clinical expertise on their shift and department.
• Coordinates staffing and resources to meet patient needs and financial targets.
• Directs interdisciplinary care via delegation and collaboration.
• Develops and updates individualized plans of care with patient/family input.
• Ensures documentation, policy compliance, and professional accountability.
• Leads quality improvement and supports safe, high‑quality patient care.
• Activates rapid response and uses chain of command when needed.
