Job summary

Steel Energy Services in Texas is seeking a Rig Operator to lead the rig crew, conduct Job Safety Meetings, and drive the rig to work sites while coordinating materials and equipment for contracted services.

You will direct floor hands and derrick hands, perform and document the services provided, maintain equipment, and ensure safe rig setup, teardown, and post‑job inspections in a fast‑paced oilfield environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating oilfield rigs and safety procedures.
• Ability to work long or irregular hours, including weekends.
• Strong attention to documentation and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Work beyond 8-hour day; weekends/holidays; 24-hour shift operations.
• Lead daily pre-job tailgate safety meetings and write JHA’s.
• Inspect lift equipment and rigging; document services and hours.
• Direct crew in rigging up/down, pull/lay rods, tubing, and casing.
