Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead and coordinate electrical design projects for SPARC’s power system. You will interface with R&D, physics, construction, manufacturing, software, and testing teams to ensure high-quality design releases that meet specifications and timelines.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in electrical distribution or battery-based systems, strong modeling/simulation skills, and experience with NEC/IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical distribution systems or battery-based systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel and perform occasional nights/weekends/on-call.

Responsibilities

• Execute installation and testing of high power electrical systems.
• Develop technical requirements for vendor equipment based on simulations.
• Create test methods and plans to qualify new designs.
• Lead installation, test, and handover for electrical designs.
• Lead electrical work package releases (equipment lists, drawings, schematics).
• Apply core electrical engineering knowledge to improve high power systems.
• Develop control narratives, procedures for commissioning, and ops handover.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are met.
• Support vendor coordination and procurement quotes.
• Ensure safety practices and compliance in design and implementation.
