Job summary

Crescent Energy seeks an experienced Lead Revenue Accountant to join our Houston-based accounting organization, supporting upstream oil and gas operations across Eagle Ford, Permian and Uinta basins. You will lead revenue accounting processes for oil, natural gas and NGL, driving accuracy, timely close and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in upstream revenue accounting, with hands-on knowledge of revenue recognition, settlements, accruals and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five or more years of upstream oil and gas accounting experience, including direct revenue accounting.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition, purchaser and gas plant statements, revenue settlements, pricing, deductions, transportation charges, distribution accounting, and accrual processes.
• Experience coordinating close activities, resolving complex accounting issues, and preparing or reviewing reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned oil, natural gas, and NGL revenue accounting processes ensuring accurate, complete and timely transactions.
• Review and analyze purchaser statements, gas plant statements, residue gas settlements, NGL proceeds and related distributions; resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and review revenue-related reconciliations.
• Lead revenue accrual preparations, perform accrual-to-actual reviews and explain variances for reporting.
• Provide guidance on complex revenue accounting matters and mentor team members across assets.
• Analyze purchaser contracts and transportation agreements to ensure correct accounting treatment and settlements.
• Support due diligence, transitions, and integration for acquisitions and divestitures.
• Execute and support internal and external audit requests and strengthen revenue controls across departments.
• Collaborate with Production Accounting, Marketing, Land, and Operations to improve data quality and processes.
