Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• CPA, CPA candidate, or APA designation preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Revenue accounting for oil, natural gas, and NGL sales across Crescent's portfolio.
• Review and analyze purchaser statements, gas plant statements, settlements, pricing, deductions, and distributions.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of revenue-related accounts, production and sales volumes, inventories, and AR balances.
• Prepare revenue accruals and support financial reporting and management reporting.
• Support acquisition/divestiture activities through due diligence and integration of assets.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and strengthen internal controls.

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Revenue Accountants to join our Accounting team supporting upstream oil and gas operations across Crescent's core operating areas, including the Eagle Ford, Permian, and Uinta Basins. The role is responsible for revenue accounting activities including settlement analysis, revenue recognition, accruals, reconciliations, financial close responsibilities, and contract‑related accounting. Successful candidates will bring experience in upstream revenue accounting, distribution accounting, and related settlement processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, a solid foundation in upstream oil and gas, and the ability to collaborate effectively across accounting, production accounting, marketing, land, operations, and commercial teams in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Revenue Accounting: Perform revenue accounting activities for oil, natural gas, and NGL sales across Crescent's portfolio, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Settlement and Distribution Accounting: Review and analyze oil purchaser statements, gas plant statements, residue gas settlements, NGL proceeds, pricing, deductions, transportation charges, royalties, and other ownership distributions to ensure the completeness and accuracy of recorded revenues and related owner payments.
• Reconciliations and Accounting Close: Prepare monthly reconciliations of revenue‑related accounts, production and sales volumes, inventories, accounts receivable balances, and other key accounts while supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
• Accruals and Financial Reporting: Prepare revenue accruals, perform accrual‑to‑actual analyses, investigate variances, and support accurate financial reporting and management reporting requirements.
• Contract, Commercial, and A&D Support: Develop an understanding of purchaser contracts, processing agreements, transportation agreements, and marketing arrangements while supporting acquisition and divestiture activities through due diligence, transition planning, and integration of acquired assets.
• Cross‑functional Collaboration and Process Improvement: Partner with production accounting, marketing, land, operations, commercial, and finance teams to resolve accounting issues, strengthen internal controls, support a scalable revenue accounting organization, and drive continuous process improvements. Support owner audits and Owner Relations queries as appropriate.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the upstream oil and gas industry
• Experience with upstream oil, and/or gas and NGL revenue accounting functions preferred
• Understanding of purchaser statements, gas plant statements, revenue settlements, pricing, deductions, transportation agreements, and revenue accrual processes preferred
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem‑solving skills
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with SAP or other major ERP system preferred
• CPA, CPA candidate, or APA designation preferred but not required
