Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will help customers locate and purchase merchandise, operate the cash register, stock, and maintain displays, and assist in store management tasks when leadership is absent.

The role requires high school diploma (or equivalent) and familiarity with planograms, cash handling, and basic math.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and display guides.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math including percentages and transactions.
• Ability to operate cash register and handle cash accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner; itemize purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise; rotate on shelves; build displays; open/close store as directed.
• Clean the store; manage trash; clean restrooms; support sidewalk displays.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance.
• Perform duties in absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
