Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a team-oriented associate to serve as cashier and/or stocker, stepping into a leadership role when store management is absent. You will help maintain planograms, stock displays, and provide exceptional customer service.

The position involves unloading trucks, processing cashier transactions, and ensuring a clean, organized store while protecting assets and reducing losses. Equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math operations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate an IBM cash register.
• Familiarity with plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Adherence to safety policies and practices.
• Ability to follow plan-o-gram and display guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Follow ordering practices for zones and drop shipments.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety.
• Greet customers entering the store and assist at the register.
• Operate cash register, total purchases and give change.
• Open/close the store per Area Manager directions.
