Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of store management, ensure accurate cash handling, and maintain plan-o-grams and displays. The role emphasizes superb customer service, teamwork, and loss prevention in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include stocking, cashiering, order zones, and assisting in store operations while upholding company policies and procedures. Relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise on shelves.
• Rotate and face merchandise and build displays.
• Assist customers in locating items and provide helpful service.
• Operate the cash register, total purchases and give change.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety, including restrooms and stockroom.
• Open/close store under guidance of management.
