Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking team members to serve as cashiers and stockers, with leadership responsibilities in the absence of store management. Duties include stocking, merchandising, customer assistance, and operating the register to complete sales while maintaining a clean, organized store.

Role emphasizes strong customer service, adherence to procedures, safety, and cash accountability. Training on plan-o-grams and loss prevention will be provided for ongoing store profitability.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store processes.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; rotate and face stock.
• Restock returned merchandise and maintain store areas.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide service.
• Maintain front-end cleanliness and organize displays.
• Operate cash register and scanner, total purchases, and bag items.
• Handle payments and make change.
• Ensure store is clean, safe, and secure.
