Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the manager's absence and ensure smooth store operations. You will assist in plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires handling cash, operating the POS, and maintaining a clean, organized store. Candidates should be able to lift, stock, and unload trucks while protecting company assets and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, safety and facility control policies.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following the store's prescribed process.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes per procedure.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays; restock and face shelves.
• Process returns; manage order zones and plan-o-grams as directed.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide superior service.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including front end and stockroom.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, bag items, and provide change.
• Open/close store under Area Manager guidance; handle refunds and cash deposits.
