Job summary

Verizon is seeking an Associate Director of Responsible AI to lead enterprise-wide risk governance for AI/ML technologies. You will define frameworks, co-chair governance councils, and ensure audits address bias, fairness, transparency, and explainability in global deployments across Verizon’s platforms.

You will partner with Legal, Privacy, and Public Policy to navigate evolving regulations (NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, GDPR) and integrate RAI checks into the CI/CD pipeline and ML lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four+ years of work experience.
• Eight+ years in technology policy, data governance, legal, risk management, or data science.
• Three+ years leading AI Governance, Responsible AI, Tech Ethics, or AI/ML Risk Management at scale.
• Deep understanding of ML lifecycles, generative AI, and ethical risks with LLMs.
• Experience translating global AI/data regs into enterprise compliance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Define, scale, and manage Verizon’s Responsible AI framework to align with global standards (e.g., NIST AI RMF).
• Co-chair the AI Governance Council and establish go/no-go criteria for model deployment.
• Design and implement AI auditing for bias, fairness, transparency, and explainability.
• Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, and Public Policy to navigate AI regulations and ensure compliance.
• Lead cross-functional AI red-teaming and stress-testing in production models.
• Embed RAI checkpoints into CI/CD and ML lifecycle (MLOps).
• Develop training programs on AI ethics, data privacy, and responsible development.
