Job summary

Verizon is seeking an Associate Director of Responsible AI to lead enterprise-wide AI risk and governance. You will define and scale the Responsible AI framework, co-chair the AI Governance Council, and drive audits for bias, fairness, and transparency across our AI systems.

You will work with Legal, Privacy, and Policy teams to ensure compliance with global regulations, mentor ML engineers, and build training programs on ethics and responsible development practices in a hybrid work environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four+ years of work experience.
• Eight+ years of relevant work experience in technology policy, data governance, legal, risk management, or data science.
• Three+ years of direct leadership experience in AI Governance, Responsible AI, Tech Ethics, or AI/ML Risk Management at an enterprise scale.
• Deep understanding of machine learning lifecycles, generative AI technologies, and ethical risks of LLMs.
• Experience translating global AI/data regulations (e.g., NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, GDPR, CCPA) into enterprise compliance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead Verizon's enterprise-wide Responsible AI framework and governance.
• Co-chair AI Governance Council and define go/no-go criteria for model deployment.
• Design AI auditing processes focused on bias, fairness, transparency, and explainability.
• Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, and Public Policy on AI regulatory compliance.
• Run AI red-teaming and stress-testing to identify production vulnerabilities.
• Integrate RAI checkpoints into CI/CD and ML lifecycle (MLOps).
• Develop training programs on AI ethics and data privacy.
