Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for night shifts at Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time role offers a 36-hour work week with nights from 7:00pm to 7:30am, including every other weekend and rotating holidays.

You will coordinate daily shift activities, supervise staff, ensure patient care standards, and respond to workload fluctuations. Requires CoARC-accredited RT program graduate, IL DPR licensure, CPR, and 3 years of respiratory therapy experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current CPR certification.
• RRT, NALS, PALS and CPR certification.
• Illinois DPR Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure.
• 3 years of respiratory therapy experience; NICU/NEO and PFT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily shift activities and staff support.
• Plan and organize daily shift activities; ensure patient care standards and budgetary compliance.
• Adjust shift assignments due to workload fluctuations.
• Provide leadership, assessments, and initiate orders per protocols.
• Assist staff with procedures and equipment issues.
• Resolve patient, physician, and nursing complaints and report incidents.

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.09 - $55.94 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Lead Respiratory Therapist RRT - Nights
• Location: Elmhurst Hospital - Elmhurst, IL
• Full Time | 36 hours/week
• Hours: Nights, Monday - Friday from 7:00pm to 7:30am with every other weekend and rotating holidays, required.

What you will do:

• Coordinate the daily shift activities and provision of employee assistance in order to perform job functions.
• Responsible for planning and organizing the daily shift activities of the Respiratory Therapy therapists and technicians. Ensures that department standards in patient care, departmental performance improvements and budgetary compliance are adhered to by staff.
• Adjusts daily shift work assignments due to fluctuations in workloads, staffing and/or unexpected events.
• Provides leadership, assists with assessments, and initiates orders according to the standards set by the patient assessment and protocol treatment program.
• Provides assistance to staff by resolving problems with procedures and/or equipment.
• Assists in resolving patient, physician and/or nursing complaints and reports all such incidents to the Department Director or designee.

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association, required.
• RRT, NALS, PALS and CPR certification, required.
• License: Current State of Illinois DPR Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure, required.
• Experience: 3 years of previous experience respiratory therapy is required. NEO/NICU and PFT experience is preferred.
