Endeavor Health is recruiting a Lead Respiratory Therapist for Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role is a full-time night shift (7pm–7:30am) with every other weekend and holidays.

Location is Northwest Community Hospital – Arlington Heights, IL, with a weekly schedule of 40 hours. The position emphasizes leadership of the respiratory therapy team, coordination of shift activities, adherence to clinical standards, and budgetary compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC) required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• Illinois licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• Current CPR, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required.
• Level 3 NICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily shift activities and provision of employee assistance in order to perform job functions.
• Plan and organize daily shift activities of the Respiratory Therapy staff; ensure patient care standards and budgetary compliance.
• Adjust daily shift assignments due to workload fluctuations or unexpected events.
• Provide leadership, assist with assessments, and initiate orders per treatment protocols.
• Assist staff by resolving procedural or equipment-related problems.
• Resolve patient, physician, and nursing complaints and report incidents as required.

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.09 - $55.94 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Lead Respiratory Therapist
• Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL
• Full Time | 40 hours/week

What you will do:

• Coordinate the daily shift activities and provision of employee assistance in order to perform job functions.
• Responsible for planning and organizing the daily shift activities of the Respiratory Therapy therapists and technicians. Ensures that department standards in patient care, departmental performance improvements and budgetary compliance are adhered to by staff.
• Adjusts daily shift work assignments due to fluctuations in workloads, staffing and/or unexpected events.
• Provides leadership, assists with assessments, and initiates orders according to the standards set by the patient assessment and protocol treatment program.
• Provides assistance to staff by resolving problems with procedures and/or equipment.
• Assists in resolving patient, physician and/or nursing complaints and reports all such incidents to the Department Director or designee.

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.
• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), required.
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure, required.
• Current CPR, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association, required.
• Experience: Level 3 NICU experience, required.
