Qualifications

• Licensure as Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RCP) in-state or state of practice.
• NBRC-CRT or NBRC-RRT certification must be current.
• ACLS, BCLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within stated deadlines.
• Experience delivering respiratory care to adult and geriatric inpatients.

Responsibilities

• Apply respiratory care modalities and evaluate outcomes.
• Identify problems and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to care team.
• Ensure safe delivery of cardiopulmonary care per policies.
• Coordinate shift reports and case management for efficiency.
• Assist in cost containment and resource management.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and therapy staff to optimize care.
• Assess need for appropriate level of care and discharge planning.
