Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation in Largo, MD seeks a Lead Respiratory Assistant to coordinate and manage materials, supplies, and equipment for the Respiratory Department. You will ensure timely, cost-effective provisioning and support therapists by delivering supplies and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities include inventory control, purchase orders, budget adherence, and collaboration with vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Valid BLS Certification or ability to obtain/renew prior to start date.
• One year experience in medical equipment and/or materials management required; 3-5 years preferred.
• Technical/Clinical Skills: Microsoft Office, Basic PowerPoint, ICD-9 knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews the Department's service schedule to ensure availability of adequate supplies and equipment.
• Orders supplies and equipment as needed.
• Assists with arranging for loans of supplies from other hospitals and vendors as needed.
• Develops and maintains inventory and par levels.
• Compiles and maintains current records of pricing and products, and disseminates appropriately.
• Prepares, files, and distributes documents pertaining to purchase and tracking of supplies.
• Monitors purchase requests for accuracy and quantity.
• Identifies and addresses invoice discrepancies; processes purchase orders.
• Cleans, assembles and performs system checks on respiratory equipment; delivers supplies and equipment to therapists.
• Monitors PM dates on respiratory equipment and collects oxygen tanks; maintains par levels for replacements.
• Performs related work as assigned.
