RWJBarnabas Health’s Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ seeks a Respiratory Care Manager to lead clinical operations, ensure high-quality patient care, and manage daily staffing in critical care and emergency services.

Responsibilities include supervision, budget monitoring, staff development, quality improvement, and collaboration with physicians, nursing leadership, and hospital administration to promote safe, effective respiratory care across departments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NBRC-approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC.
• Current New Jersey Respiratory Care Practitioner License required.
• Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of advanced respiratory care experience, including adult/neonatal ventilator management and acute respiratory care.
• Previous experience in shift coordination, staff supervision, and employee instruction.
• Successful completion of all organizational orientation programs.

Responsabilités

• Directly supervise Respiratory Care staff and ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
• Assumes responsibility for departmental operations and personnel management in the absence of the Respiratory Director.
• Ensures daily patient care demands are met through effective staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
• Provides leadership, mentoring, coaching, counseling, and direction to staff through orientation, direct observation, and performance evaluations.
• Monitors staff competency, performance, and compliance with departmental and hospital standards.
• Participates in recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
• Supports and enforces hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Monitors departmental expenses and assists with budget management, variance reporting, and operational planning.
• Serves on hospital committees and multidisciplinary teams as delegated by Respiratory Care leadership.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing leaders, and ancillary departments to promote quality patient outcomes and continuity of care.
• Assesses patient care needs utilizing age-specific principles of growth and development to ensure appropriate respiratory care services.
• Maintains clinical expertise and provides support in critical care situations as necessary.
• Promotes quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and customer service excellence throughout the department.
• Demonstrates independent decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
