Job summary

The Canyons Castle Pines, part of BlueStar Resort & Golf, seeks a Cook 3 to join the Food & Beverage Team. You will prepare, cook, and serve meals, reporting to the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef, mastering all kitchen stations.

The role requires at least three years of cooking in a commercial kitchen, valid Food Handlers card, and flexibility to work evenings/weekends in a fast-paced environment. Pay is $20-$22 per hour with full-time benefits including health, PTO, holidays, and retirement

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years' cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Current Food Handlers card.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
• Ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
• Must demonstrate initiative and accept responsibility for decisions and actions.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, and a team player.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Work and master all kitchen stations.
• Ensure superior standards of service meet guest requirements.
• Proactively respond to and resolve guest or employee challenges.
• Follow cleaning schedule to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Familiar with food prep, cooking, serving techniques; read recipes.
• Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits.
• Measure and mix ingredients for soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, casseroles.
• Bake, roast, broil, and steam foods; adjust oven temps.
• Observe and test foods by tasting and appearance.
• Carve meats, portion servings, add gravies and garnish as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.
