Job summary

Precision Plumbing and Heating Systems in Traverse City, MI is seeking a Lead Residential HVAC Installer. You will oversee residential installation projects from start to finish, installing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and related equipment while ensuring quality and safety.

This role requires leading teams, coordinating on-site activities, and delivering exceptional workmanship with homeowners and builders.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of residential HVAC installation experience.
• EPA Certification is required; Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred.
• Able to read blueprints and interpret installation specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee residential HVAC installation projects from start to finish.
• Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, mini-splits, ductwork, and related equipment.
• Review installation plans and coordinate daily jobsite activities.
• Troubleshoot challenges, perform startup and commissioning, verify system operation.
• Mentor less experienced installers and maintain safety and organization on site.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Residential HVAC Installer, you'll oversee residential HVAC installation projects from start to finish while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. You'll install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-split systems, boilers, ductwork, and related comfort equipment while ensuring every installation meets manufacturer specifications, local code requirements, and company expectations.

You’ll review installation plans and blueprints before each project, coordinate daily jobsite activities, troubleshoot installation challenges, perform equipment startup and commissioning, verify proper system operation, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within labor expectations. You’ll also provide technical guidance, mentor less experienced installers, reinforce safety procedures, and help maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite on every project.

Working closely with homeowners, builders, project managers, and fellow team members, you'll help deliver an outstanding customer experience while representing Precision Plumbing and Heating Systems with professionalism and pride.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking experienced HVAC professionals with at least five years of residential HVAC installation experience and a proven ability to lead projects in the field. Candidates should have extensive experience installing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, mini-splits, duct systems, and related residential HVAC equipment.

EPA Certification is required, and Universal Refrigerant Certification is preferred. NATE Certification is a plus but not required. Successful candidates should be comfortable reading blueprints, interpreting installation specifications, troubleshooting field issues, and independently managing installation projects from beginning to completion.

Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, and customer service skills are essential. We’re looking for professionals who take pride in developing others, maintaining exceptional workmanship, and continually improving both their technical skills and the performance of their team.

A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
