Job summary

NICOLET HEATING & COOLING LLC is seeking a Lead Residential HVAC Installer to lead installations from start to finish, supervise a small crew, and ensure quality workmanship and safety in customers’ homes.

The ideal candidate will read installation manuals, size and commission equipment, and resolve issues while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Requires 3+ years in residential HVAC installation and EPA certification or the ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of residential HVAC installation experience
  • Strong knowledge of residential heating and cooling systems
  • Previous experience leading an HVAC installation crew
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and understand electrical, refrigerant, and airflow systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage installation projects efficiently
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills
  • EPA certification required or ability to obtain it

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform residential HVAC system installations, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats, and related equipment
  • Supervise and guide installation helpers and other crew members on job sites
  • Read and interpret installation manuals, equipment specifications, and job plans
  • Properly size, install, configure, and commission HVAC equipment according to manufacturer specifications
  • Complete ductwork modifications, refrigerant piping, electrical connections, condensate systems, and other installation-related work
  • Perform start-up, testing, and quality-control checks on newly installed systems
  • Diagnose and resolve installation or equipment issues as they arise
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow all company safety policies, local building codes, and applicable HVAC regulations
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and explain equipment operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
  • Complete installation paperwork, job documentation, and required checklists accurately
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and inventory
  • Coordinate with the installation manager, comfort advisors, service technicians, and office staff as needed
  • Identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality, and customer experience
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide exceptional customer service on every job

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Residential HVAC Installer to join our team. The Lead Installer will be responsible for leading residential HVAC installation projects from start to finish while ensuring high-quality workmanship, safety, customer satisfaction, and compliance with applicable codes and manufacturer specifications.

The ideal candidate is a skilled HVAC professional who can work independently, lead a small installation crew, troubleshoot installation issues, and represent the company professionally in customers’ homes.

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift HVAC equipment and materials and perform physically demanding work.
  • Willingness to work in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and other challenging residential environments.
  • EPA certification required or ability to obtain it.
  • HVAC certifications or trade-school training are a plus.
