Job summary

HDR is seeking a Resident Project Representative II in California to oversee multidisciplinary construction projects within HDR’s Transportation Business Group. You will read and interpret drawings, track progress and quantities, and ensure contract compliance while coordinating with engineers, inspectors and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts.
• Must work in a team environment and be computer literate (Microsoft Office, Primavera or related packages).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; active participant in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
• Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor’s activities, labor, equipment and materials used
• Review construction materials for Contract compliance
• Track quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance
• Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings
• Conduct observations of installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems
• Identify nonconforming work and develop punchlists
• Develop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance
• Assist with project audit/closeout
• Supervise and direct junior staff and subconsultants
• Assist Resident Engineer with other duties as required
• Other duties as assigned
