Placements24 is seeking an experienced Reservoir Geologist for a pivotal role in Welkom, South Africa. You will integrate geological, petrophysical, and engineering data to build detailed reservoir models and support field development planning.

The role requires a master's degree in geology with sedimentology or reservoir geology, plus 6+ years of relevant experience and proficiency with Petrel or GeoGraphix. Collaboration with engineers and drilling teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology with a focus on sedimentology or reservoir geology.
• 6+ years of Reservoir Geologist experience in Oil & Gas preferred.
• Proven ability in well log interpretation, core analysis, and geological modelling.

Responsabilités

• Interpret geological data to characterize reservoir properties.
• Develop and update 3D geological reservoir models with petrophysical data.
• Perform sedimentological and stratigraphic analyses to assess heterogeneity.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to forecast production and optimization opportunities.
• Assist in drilling program evaluation from a geological perspective.
• Prepare geological reports, cross-sections, and maps for communication.
• Work with petrophysicists to ensure quality control of log data.
• Contribute to prospect evaluation and risk assessment based on geology.
