Job summary

Caltrans is seeking a Research Data Analyst II (will consider Research Data Analyst I) in Sacramento County. The role focuses on gathering, compiling, and interpreting quantitative financial data to support program allocations, budget changes, and legislative analysis.

The incumbent will create and maintain budget dashboards, coordinate research with other analysts, and serve as a lead analyst within the unit. Telework is possible with hybrid arrangements; travel to headquarters may be required.

Responsibilities

• Gather, compile, edit, and interpret quantitative financial data for use in Program allocations, Budget Change Proposals and Legislative analysis.
• Create, maintain, and update budget dashboards for the Department.
• Coordinate research with other analysts for budget analysis.
• Act as a lead analyst for the unit and may assist in training other analysts.
