Job summary

Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research seeks a Lead, Research Associate to oversee a high-impact VICD laboratory developing validated immunoassays for clinical studies. The role emphasizes managing a team, standardizing assays, and ensuring data quality.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience with influenza immunology, multiplex platforms, ELISA, and flow cytometry, plus strong data analysis and report-writing skills in a GCLP/GLP environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or six (6) years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience, including one (1) year in a leadership/manager capacity of full-time staff.
• Deep knowledge of influenza immunology and viral immunology.
• Experience in development, validation and implementation of advanced immunological assays (Multiplex, ELISA).
• Experience with T-cell and B-cell epitope mapping and flow cytometry; proficiency in multi-color or spectral flow cytometry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory projects from conception to execution.
• Develop and validate multiplex-based assays and antibody-based serological assays.
• Manage sample management and inventory using LIMS and assist with scheduling staff for testing.
• Plan experiments and conduct testing of large numbers of samples from clinical studies.
• Prepare reports and contribute to SOPs and Master Control documentation.
