Job summary

Qualus seeks a Principal Relay Settings Engineer to lead protection and control engineering, designing and coordinating protective relay schemes for major utility substations and generation interconnections. You will calculate settings, model studies, and ensure compliance with client standards.

Requires 12+ years in relay settings, CAPE/ASPEN experience, and PE licensure; strong communication and multitasking skills are essential for multi-project support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus (MS preferred).
• 12+ years of protection and control engineering and relay settings experience.
• Experience with CAPE and/or ASPEN required; PE registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, specification, setting calculation, and coordination of protective relaying and relay control schemes.
• Modeling, short circuit and overstressed breaker studies and protective relaying recommendations for generation interconnections.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to questions clearly.
