Job summary

CoolSys in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Foreman-Refrigeration to serve as the technical lead and crew chief on assigned projects. The role requires strong organizational, safety and leadership skills to manage labor, costs and field teams.

You will oversee apprentices and Journeymen, ensure PPE usage and safety adherence, and build productive relationships with customers, GCs and subcontractors while maintaining compliance with company policies and state/federal laws.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial building construction or related industry/trade.
• Knowledge of construction principles and practices, including efficient use of labor hours.
• High school diploma or GED; trade program/technical school preferred.
• College degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Lead Technical resource on assigned projects.
• Reports on job status and performance.
• Controls job costs.
• Develops and maintains productive relationships with peers, customers, GCs and subcontractors.
• Ensures use of PPE and safe behavior, including vehicle safety.
• Ensures compliance of installation policies and procedures, including project tracking, safety, time and attendance, etc.
• May oversee 3rd party resources.
• Directs and oversees the work of Apprentices and Journeyman assigned to specific projects.
