Job summary

CoolSys is seeking a Foreman Refrigeration for Commercial & Industrial projects in Springfield, MA. You will lead and mentor the project crew, coordinate trades, and manage schedules to deliver high-quality HVAC/refrigeration installations on time.

The role emphasizes safety, cost control, and collaboration with customers and subcontractors. A strong background in commercial construction and leadership is required, with hands-on experience and a focus on reliable execution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or completion of trade program or technical school. College degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial building construction or related industry/trade.
• Knowledge of construction principles and practices, including efficient use of labor hours.
• Ability to organize tasks and use good judgement in making work assignments.
• Ability to give clear instructions and guidance when needed.
• Ability to maintain project labor hours and request change orders as needed.
• Ability to ensure safe work practices and comply with safety policies.
• Ability to understand and follow company policies and all applicable laws.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Track record of punctuality and dependability.
• Ability to use computer tools including E-Mail, Word, Project Planning Software (Projectmates).
• Ability to manage time, delegate assignments and follow through to ensure good results.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and mentor the project crew, prioritizing and delegating responsibilities.
• Communicate with tradespeople on the job site and track project schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Serve as lead technical resource on assigned projects and report on job status and performance.
• Control job costs and maintain productive relationships with peers, customers, GCs, and subcontractors.
• Ensure use of PPE and safe behavior; enforce installation policies and procedures.
• Oversee compliance with safety, time, and attendance policies and coordinate with 3rd party resources as needed.
• Direct and supervise Apprentices and journeymen assigned to projects.
