Job summary

Hampton Roads Transit is seeking a dynamic LRV maintenance supervisor to oversee inspection, maintenance, and repair of light rail vehicles and subsystems. You will lead a team, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safe, on-time operations in a second/third shift environment.

Qualified candidates have electrical/trade experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication. The role requires scheduling, safety compliance, and strong record-keeping in a fast-paced transit setting.

Qualifications

• Journeyman electrical trade experience required or equivalent.
• Ability to lead maintenance, troubleshooting and overhaul of LRV systems.
• Proven ability to train and supervise maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance actions within schedule and budget while coordinating with operations.
• Develop plans for emergencies and unusual events and keep stakeholders informed.
• Ensure safety procedures and standard practices for efficient maintenance.
• Perform inspections of LRV systems and report findings to management.
• Coordinate with contractors and Hampton Roads Transit staff; review work quality.
• Train and guide maintenance employees and assign schedules per operations needs.
