Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Lynnwood, WA, seeks a Requirements Management Lead for Rail & Transit to guide multidisciplinary teams in capturing and managing requirements across signalling, train control, communications, and power systems. You will ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards and oversee verification strategies for large-scale transit projects.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; MS preferred.
• P.E. license is desired.
• Familiarity with AREMA, IEEE, FRA, FTA and safety certification processes.
• 3+ years of experience focused on requirements management or systems integration for rail and transit projects.
• 10 years of experience in rail and transit is preferred.
• Experience with IBM DOORS or equivalent tools.
• Strong expertise in train control, signalling, and safety-critical systems.
• Strong technical writing and communications skills with demonstrated presentations or papers.

Responsibilities

• Leads multidisciplinary teams in identifying and managing requirements for rail/subsystems such as signalling, train control, and SCADA.
• Oversees development of requirements management plans, specifications, and verification/validation strategies for large transit projects.
• Provides technical leadership in elicitation, traceability, risk analysis, and change control per industry standards.
• Acts as primary technical liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, and vendors.
• Defines project scope related to requirements and ensures deliverables meet safety and performance standards.
• Develops and implements risk management and configuration management processes for complex projects.
• Performs quality control checks on requirements documentation and oversees on-site inspections as needed.
• Keeps abreast of state-of-the-art methods and recommends improvements to plans and programs.
• May function as project manager for routine to complex requirements management projects.
