Job summary

HDR in the Northern CA Bay Area seeks a Construction Manager/Resident Engineer to lead construction planning, coordination, and field execution for substation facilities within rail transit systems.

You will develop procedures, manage procurement, review subcontract terms, perform value engineering, monitor schedules, and ensure safety and quality across the project while collaborating with owners, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Experience in construction planning and management, contracts, scheduling and cost control.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors, schedules and QC for rail transit substation facilities.
• Develop procedures and align with construction management team.
• Prepare procurement, schedules, subcontracts, and cost/schedule reviews.
• Administer and manage construction activities and QA/QC.
• Monitor design progress against construction requirements.
• Coordinate bidding, PO procurement, submittals, and invoices.
• Control project budget and schedule; report progress to stakeholders.
• Maintain health and safety compliance and inspections.
